Russell Williams started instructing piano students at the age of 15. During these early years he began to develop some of the methods and technics he currently employs to help his students achieve beautiful success. His approach of first helping his students love music, and then working with that developing passion, has seen gratifying results through the years.
His own musical journey began as a child, taking what most parents would consider, "typical piano lessons". As his skill and love for playing the instrument increased, it became evident that he needed advanced instruction, capable of taking his skills to the next level. At this point, it was revealed that many improper playing technics needed to be undone in order for him to progress further, taking a significant amount of time and effort to accomplish. This progression left an indelible impression on Mr. Williams, and helped shape a fundamental part of his teaching philosophy that he carries on to this day.
Through his teenage years, Mr. Williams gradually developed into a critically acclaimed performing artist. This has been a crucial aspect of his experience that has allowed him to develop an approach that seeks to ensure a very purposeful and logical progression for his students up to the advanced levels.
In addition to his love for music, Mr. Williams also has interests and a background in nuclear engineering and financial management. He currently resides in Southlake, Texas, where he enjoys spending time with his wife and six children.
